Dare to be Different - Get Married in One of These Unique & Unexpected Places

If you are an unconventional couple or one that likes to do things differently than everyone else, getting married in a unique and unexpected location is a perfect choice. Whether you want to exchange vows among the clouds or in the serene setting of a national park, you can guarantee your ceremony will be like no other.

While there are a ton of different places you can get married, the following are some of our favorite location ideas.

Hot air balloon – Every year in early October, the International Balloon Fiesta takes place in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Couples can get married mid-air surrounded by hundreds of other hot air balloons. Some baskets can even hold up to 12 individuals, allowing you and your bride or groom to include a few of your loved ones at the wedding celebration.

In a cave – According to local folklore, a Native American wedding took place inside the Bridal Cave in the Ozarks of Missouri in the early 1800s. Since then, over 3,000 weddings have been performed in the cave or in the pavilion that overlooks Lake of the Ozarks.

On a bridge – At the 40-acre Keeler Estate in Jacksonville, Florida, you can get married on a covered bridge. After the ceremony, have your reception inside of the 9,5000 square-foot red barn which sits next to a lake. If you’re envisioning a rustic wedding full of charm, this is the ideal location.

In a castle – If you want to feel even more like a princess on your wedding day, you can get married in a castle. Don’t want to travel abroad to say I do? No problem! New York City is home to the Belvedere Castle in Central Park. Built in 1869, the historic structure offers panoramic views of the park and city skyline. The castle is currently closed for restoration but will reopen to the public in 2019.

Local farm – Are you and your significant other a lover of the outdoors? Consider having a wedding at a local farm where nature is the perfect backdrop. Serve drinks in mason jars, incorporate hay bales, and hang lots of market lighting above wooden tables.

National Park – While getting married at a national park could be a bit tricky, the gorgeous natural scenery of these breathtaking landscapes are totally worth it. Each park has its own rules and restrictions, so make sure to get all of the details before deciding. Some national parks include Yosemite and Big Bend both in California, Glacier in Montana, and Shenandoah in Virginia.

A zoo – If you are an animal lover looking for a fun and exotic place to get married, what better choice is there than the zoo? The Sanford Zoo is just miles away from all of the exciting attractions Orlando has to offer. There are many different spaces to pick from that will complement your wedding style. Plus, think of all of the unique photos opportunities you will have.

Any of these special wedding ceremony and reception locations will be sure to wow your guests and give you memories to last a lifetime.
